About the Pro Chancellor

The Pro Chancellor is an honorary position appointed by the Council under the Governance (Pro Chancellor) Rule 2007 No. 3. The Pro Chancellor may preside at official ceremonies of the University within Australia (such as graduations) on behalf of the Chancellor where the Chancellor and Deputy Chancellor are unable to do so.

Mr Ian Macintosh, AM, was appointed the inaugural Pro Chancellor of Charles Sturt University on 1 January 2009 to mark the 20th Anniversary of the University.  Pro Chancellor Macintosh was the former Mayor of Bathurst Regional Council and Deputy Chancellor of Charles Sturt University until June 2007
