Environmental Sustainability

Working toward the environmental sustainability of the Orange Campus in the long-term is one of the key goals of the Campus Environment Committee, particularly in light of the serious nature of many environmental problems now facing most Australian communities. Members of the Committee work collaboratively with University staff and students to develop appropriate environmental targets and initiatives; develop appropriate strategies to meet these targets; help implement these strategies; and contribute to reflection and learning on progressive achievements of these goals. Initiatives could, for example, focus on the built environment or the University grounds as opportunities for improving the ecological, social and recreational environment.
