Community Engagement

Introduction

Community Engagement is an important feature of this campus with partnerships with community groups  and organisations that include:

Universities have an important role to play in society: ultimately it is about social transformation through knowledge and development. Another important dimension to the work of universities is the creation of opportunities for people through sharing skills and knowledge and in working together on projects with mutually beneficial outcomes.

At the Albury-Wodonga Campus of Charles Sturt University we work closely with our regional community on many fronts and through many projects as well as through the provision of services at the Community Engagement and Wellness Centre (CEW). and the CSU Dental & Oral Health Clinic.

Linked to this web page, you will find active examples of university/community engagement that are innovative and dynamic. If your organisation has a project you think we could bring staff and students expertise to, why not contact us?

Science Week 2014 activities on the Albury-Wodonga campus

Charles Sturt University Albury Wodonga campus and the Astronomical Society of Albury Wodonga, supported by Inspiring Australia have collaborated for the past three years to bring Science Week Activities to the region. Primary and secondary schools from around the region participate in workshops aimed at inspiring interest in science, engaging with science, and seeing science at work. Over 700 students have participated each year since 2012.

Each year a prominent Guest Lecturer is invited to visit Albury Wodonga to coincide with Science Week activities.
