The Centre for Indigenous Studies was established in 2007 as a part of Charles Sturt University's commitment to strengthen educational outcomes for Indigenous people and to foster the University's engagement with Indigenous students and communities. The Centre is located at the Dubbo campus and is the flagship of Indigenous education and research at CSU. The Centre aims to become a leading provider of Indigenous education at both the regional and national level through its teaching, research, and community engagement and consultation on Indigenous issues.

Dubbo Campus is home to one arm of the CSU Centre for Inland Health.
The Centre for Inland Health coordinates research and development for the health of Australian inland communities, linking researchers, educators, service providers and community representatives. On each regional CSU campus, a range of staff are actively involved in the Centre's programs and relevant community engagements.
