Awards & Prizes
Unless indicated to the contrary all award and prize winners receive a certificate from the University in addition to a cheque for the value of the award or prize or in addition to some other benefit conferred by the award or prize. The value of an award or prize may be changed without notice.
All awards and prizes are presented annually, although a particular award or prize may be withheld in a particular year if there is no candidate worthy of the award or prize or if it is not funded for that year.
Unless indicated to the contrary students do not have to apply to be considered for an award or prize.
Awards and prizes won by graduating students are normally presented at graduation ceremonies; and those won by continuing students will be presented by their individiual school held on the relevant campus. However, some professional bodies may wish to present their award or prize at their own function.

Academic Senate has recently reviewed the prizes process and due to the proposal received the prizes process is to be streamlined.
There are two sets of procedures, one for the Office of Academic Governance and one for Schools/Faculties.
