Career Development Service

The Career Development Service seeks to actively engage with academic staff to provide career development learning (CDL) opportunities to enhance the purpose and experience of tertiary study for all students.

CDL can support and enhance the CSU student experience, student retention, workplace learning, lifelong learning and assessment practice.

CDL workshops: Available face-to-face or online via the PebblePad CDL gateway

CDL workshops help to build career management competencies. Attending a CDL workshop also helps students to develop an enhanced sense of purpose and sense of agency with regard to their university learning and professional development. Available workshops include:

  • Employability skills
  • Career action planning
  • Career decision making
  • Managing career indecision

Achieving a central site within CSU for all graduate careers and employment information

CSU's CareerHub is an online resource accessible to graduate employers, students and staff, enabling the online sharing of careers and employment information. CareerHub must become the central site for all of the University's careers information and graduate employment advertising.

Managing the relationships between employers offering opportunities to CSU students, and informing CSU students of the graduate opportunities they are able to access, is a central undertaking of CSU.

  • CareerHub is the site to refer all external contacts seeking to offer our students graduate opportunities
  • CareerHub incorporates a dedicated employer portal
  • Students must be encouraged to access and use CareerHub
  • CareerHub provides students with easy access to Career Development Service appointments and workshop bookings.

Helping students to access further information and opportunities ahead of graduating

  • Extra-Curricular Workplace Learning
  • CareerWise Timeline (for first through to final year students)
  • Career Development Website
  • CareerHub
