Regional and Remote Learning Support

The Regional and Remote Learning Support Program provides support and study assistance to students studying by distance education in regional and remote areas of New South Wales.

The Program involves a schedule of visits to regional and remote areas where workshops and individual sessions in academic skills such as assignment writing, note-taking and managing reading skills are conducted.

Three tiers of support are available

  1. Face to Face Outreach Sessions
  2. School Connected Classroom Connections through Partnership with DECS (to be confirmed
  3. Skype/Phone within CSU

The following is a proposed network of support for our Distance Education students in Regional and Remote areas of NSW. We will be establishing a Mudgee presence as well.

The project works in partnership with local communicaties, especially TAFE, where the majority of our face to face sessions are held.

Team members are based in Bathurst, Wagga and Dubbo with two branded CSU vehicles providing the 'mobile offices' that underpin this project.

There are a number of ways you can be involved in the project

  1. You can send information (Study packs, further readings etc) with us to give to the students
  2. Send messages of support or an introduction (We have a series of iPads that the students can watch small podcasts on)
  3. You can come with us! If you would like to travel with us and spend some time with your students please get in contact ASAP

Students are emailed about upcoming visits and register their intention to attend. Student information is located on the STUDY tab of the student.csu site.
