STUDY LINK

The STUDY LINK team recognises the critical importance of adequate preparation for University study and we offer a pathway to success for students who may, otherwise, struggle or fail. If you recognise that students are having difficulty, or you would like to act preemptively, then we suggest that you recommend that students will benefit from developing their skills in specific areas at any time during year or in the University breaks.

STUDY LINK subjects are short, non credit bearing subjects ideally studied prior to commencing study at CSU. The subjects are free of charge for most students and take between 13 and 40 hours to complete. A STUDY LINK subject is ideal preparation for students who are facing the prospect of engaging in studies at a considerably more advanced level, or perhaps in a discipline area where the content will be new to them. In such circumstances we suggest that you recommend STUDY LINK. By completing one or more STUDY LINK subjects, students will not only increase their skills, but they will also develop a clear understanding of the expectations of studying at University.

Background

STUDY LINK has been running for more than a decade and in this time has seen more than 28,000 enrolments. Our students report huge gains in confidence, skills and knowledge as a result of completing STUDY LINK subjects and we are constantly reviewing the program and seeking feedback to ensure the STUDY LINK program continues to meet student and faculty needs.

The STUDY LINK staff pride themselves on providing high quality materials and service to students and have received an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation and Program award for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning as well as being the inaugural winners of the CSU Vice-Chancellor's Award for Programs that Enhance Learning.

Delivery

The STUDY LINK program uses flexible, online delivery, meaning students can complete subjects from the convenience of their own home, with the full support of resources, fellow students and a qualified subject coordinator. By situating STUDY LINK subjects within CSU Interact, students also become familiar with the online learning environment prior to commencing study.

Promotion of STUDY LINK

Information about the STUDY LINK Program is included in offer letters and enrolments forms, but we know students pay the most attention to materials received from their lecturers in the context of their course. Encouraging students to enrol in STUDY LINK is most effective when done as early as possible in the enrolment process, and from within the Faculty. The STUDY LINK web site for students includes detailed subject and enrolment information.

If you have questions about the content of STUDY LINK subjects we encourage you to make contact with the STUDY LINK team.
