How to use the Guide to Australia
There are three methods of locating information using the Guide to Australia. You can browse through the Guide by topic or by state, or you can use the search facility.Using The Search Facility
The search facility is accessed using the search link on the top of each page and the navigation bar on the left of the page. To use the search facility, simply enter a keyword or phrase into the search box and click the Search button. This will search through the Guide to Australia database and display any links relevent to your search. The search is not case sensative. For example. If you are looking for information on Koalas type Koala in the box and click the button. If no results are produced, try simplifying your search to a single word.Browsing By Topic
The topics covered are described left side of the Map of Australia on the main page and the navigation bar on all other pages. Clicking on any one of these topics will display a page containing any information on that topic. Each topic is separated into subtopics to make broswing easier. For example, if you required information on Koalas, you could click the Science & Education link on the left hand side of the Australian map, and then look through the Environment section. If you are unsure which topic to look under, try using the contents page. The link to the contents page is located on the navigation bar at the left of every page. The contents page lists the topics again, but also shows the subtopics contained within each topic.Browsing By State
The Map of Australia, located on the main page, is an image map. By clicking on a particular area of Australia, you will be presented with a page of information specific to that state, again sorted into topics, which are in turn broken into subtopics. For example, if you were looking for Koalas in NSW only, you could click NSW on the map of Australia, and then look for the Science & Education section.
