Riverside Playgrounds


Albury is situated on the edge of the Murray River , one of the major tourist destinations in Australia.
There is a special magic about the Murray River, lined with old red river gums, as it twists and turns on its journey to the sea. The water is clear and cool, rest in the shade or soak up the sun on its lush grassy shores.
In 1871 a government grant of 50 acres on the spot where the first crossing took place, is now the outdoor recreational centre of Albury.
On this land now the sight for the very popular Botanical Gardens, The Albury Regional Meseum, The Albury Sports Ground, The Public Swimming Pool and Parks with under cover barbecue facilities Playground Equipment, Walk Tracks and sweeping, well kept lush lawns, shaded by magnificent old trees.

Hovell's Tree and Reserve

Offers a cast of the original engraving and information boards, luscious grassed areas, picnic facilities with free barbecue and children's playground.

The Paddlesteamer PS Cumberoona is moored nearby and cruising daily (river level permiting).

The Cobb & Co Coaches - Horse Drawn Tours of the lively twincities, day or night, are also a major attraction based in this park.

Noreuil Park.

This is Albury's favorite riverside swimming spot, with its spectacular shade trees, just sit quietly and watch the river flow between the banks of the old river red gums. Bring a picnic or purchase a snack from the kiosk, barbecue a meal in the picnic sites while the children play in the shaded playgrounds.
