The School of Agricultural and Wine Sciences conducts research in fields such as agribusiness, agriculture, agronomy, horticulture, irrigation, winemaking, wine science, viticulture, equine management and chemistry. Research areas range from the biocontrol of weeds and insect pests and dryland salinity to sustainable viticulture and reducing energy consumption in wineries.

The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences focuses on the areas of animal science, equine science and veterinary science, as well as captive vertebrate management, from its excellent facilities on the Wagga Wagga Campus. Staff and postgraduate students undertake a wide range of active research programs in equine nutrition, physiology and pharmacology, farm animal production and reproduction, veterinary parasitology and many other areas of animal science.
