CSU Honours Scholarship & SCF (HECS) Exempt Award

A cash scholarship for meritorious students studying Honours courses. CSU has elected to waive the SCF for successful CSU Honours Scholarship recipients for 2013.


Am I Eligible?

To apply, you must:

  1. be enrolled in an Honours Commonwealth Supported (ie. HECS or HECS-HELP) course at CSU
  2. have maintained a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5 or above in your undergraduate or honours course
  3. be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or the holder of a Humanitarian Visa

To retain your scholarship for the next and subsequent session's payment, you need to maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 and above

What if I didn't receive the email receipt when I submitted by application?

It might take up to 24 hours for your email receipt to come through.

  • Have you checked your spam or junk mail folder?
  • Did you provide the correct email address?

If you still haven't received the receipt after 24 hours, send an email to ask@csu.edu.au, quoting the submission number (if you got one), your name and DOB.

How and when do I know if I was successful or unsuccessful?

1st Round Applications which closed on 17 December, 2012,  will receive an outcome notice by email by 18 Feb 2013.

2nd Round applications which open on 18 December 2012, will receive an outcome notice by 18 February 2013.

How do I receive and accept my offer?

The CSU Scholarship Office, Student Services will email your offer on 18 Feb 2013. Your Offer Letter will outline what you need to do.

What if I am successful?

  • If you are successful payments will occur via electronic funds transfer (EFT) payable at half the annual scholarship value in each of the selected sessions.
  • Payments are made within 3-4 weeks from the sessions Census Date.
  • Bank details can be entered or updated online

How many times can I suspend my Scholarship?

If you take an approved Leave of Absence from your course, you can suspend your scholarship for a maximum of 2 sessions and it is automatically re-activated next session.
But if you defer your course offer, you will need to reapply for the Scholarship again.

What if I'm worried that I won't get my next scholarship payment as my GPA is below the required GPA of 5.0 or above?

Email the Scholarship Office ask@csu.edu.au and they will advise you what do to.
In most cases you will be requested to complete a Special Circumstances form explaining why your GPA is below 5.0 and they will assess your circumstances to ascertain if you remain in receipt of the scholarship.
