CSU Emergency Equity Food Vouchers

Provides assistance to students in need of immediate support to purchase food and personal items.

To be eligible for this grant in 2017 a student must be:

  1. studying an undergraduate degree as an active student;
  2. enrolled as a full-time or part-time student;
  3. a commencing or continuing student;
  4. enrolled as an internal or online student;
  5. of low socio-economic status: 
    • in receipt of an eligible means tested Centrelink Benefit  or
    • must be able to explain why you are in financial hardship and not eligible to receive a Centrelink benefit
  6.  able to demonstrate that you have suffered a recent, personal adverse event that has impacted current studies and requires emergency assistance;
  7. studying onshore in Australia.
  8. Postgraduate and international students (who are studying onshore in Australia only) may be considered.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I'm of low socio-economic status?

Please refer to the Appendix A in the guidelines for a list of the eligible means tested Centrelink Benefits.

If you do not receive a means-tested Commonwealth income support payment, a comprehensive assessment will be conducted by or on behalf of CSU to determine whether you are of low socio-economic status

Can I save my application and finish it at a later date?

Yes you can, as long as you log back in and submit your application before the close date.

How will I know if I was successful and if I am successful how do I receive the food voucher?

You will receive an email notifying you of the outcome.

If you are successful and study on campus you will be contacted by a Student Liaison Officer on your campus, to arrange collection.

If you are an online student your voucher will be sent to your mailing address. 

What if my circumstances have changed from what I submitted on my application?

You must notify the CSU Scholarship Office immediately by email scholarships.officer@csu.edu.au. 

Are international and postgraduate students eligible to apply?

International and postgraduate students will be considered. We recommend that you contact the Scholarships Office before submitting your application at scholarships.officer@csu.edu.au to discuss your circumstances.
