Upon completion of the course, students should understand and be able to apply principles and analytical techniques from business ethics, business communication and quantitative methods both in the accounting and financial management context.
In itself, the course does not provide professional recognition with CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) but may form part of the academic requirements for membership.
The course is a subset of the Master of Accountancy degree.
There is a residential school in both April and September, each of three days' duration. Students in Australia attend these schools in Wagga Wagga. Overseas students attend in selected overseas locations.
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 32 points (the equivalent of four subjects).
