CSU's Graduate Certificate in Audiovisual Archiving is designed to prepare graduates for professional personnel work in the audiovisual archiving industry.
About the course
Upon completion of the course, graduates will be able to:
- appreciate the history, philosophy and ethics of audiovisual archiving
- describe the structures, strategies and skills by which audiovisual management activities are pursued
- recognise why audiovisual objects deteriorate and be able to implement appropriate preservation and storage methods to minimise this deterioration
- understand the principles and practices underlying collection development, collection management and access within the audiovisual environment, particularly as they relate to audiovisual archives.
This course was designed in consultation with The National Film and Sound Archive.
Students must have regular access to the internet to access the learning material available online and to participate in online discussions.
Graduation requirements
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 32 points (four subjects).
