Graduate Certificate in Correctional Management GradCertCorrMgt
CSU’s Correctional Management program aims to supply graduates or eligible professionals already working within the corrections industry with further credentials and skills to support theory in practice. It covers a broad knowledge base including law, ethics and justice units.
About the course
This course is specifically intended for correctional officers working in the area of correctional management. Entry is available to those applicants without a tertiary degree who have substantial correctional experience and whose employing body attests to their likely academic and vocational success; or people who would be suitable for the course.
The aims of the course are:
- to provide an introduction to tertiary level study for experienced practitioners in the field of corrections
- to enhance their understanding of their practice
- to provide an entry level qualification for further postgraduate study in correctional management.
By the end of their studies in this course, practitioners will be able to:
- produce academic work at the postgraduate level
- demonstrate their understanding of theories of justice and the field of criminology.
