CSU’s Graduate Certificate in Customs Administration prepares students for professional employment in Customs and related fields through a unique, flexible course delivered by the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES).
CSU’s Graduate Certificate in Customs Administration provides students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of customs and border management and has been designed for people engaged in both government employment and in the trading community. It has an international focus making it suitable for students from all around the world.
The course has been designed with industry, government and international agency collaboration, including the World Customs Organization (WCO) by the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES). CCES is the world’s leading provider of training and education in the highly specialised area of customs and border management. CCES has established a global reputation for its work in helping to strengthen the organisational capability and professional standards of customs and other border enforcement agencies globally.
Students will gain advanced technical skills in traditional and topical aspects of international customs law and customs administration preparing them to effectively apply complex policy and practice in workplaces focused on cross border trade. Students will gain well-developed judgement, adaptability and responsibility for use as a customs administration practitioner and will be provided with a pathway for further learning.

Students studying CSU’s Graduate Certificate in Customs Administration will study two 16 point core subjects.

Students must satisfactorily complete 32 points to graduate with CSU’s Graduate Certificate in Customs Administration.
For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.
Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.
Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).
