Admission requirements
An applicant to the Doctor of Philosophy degree must hold:
- an Honours degree (minimum Level 2 Division 1) in a related field
or - a Master degree with Honours, or equivalent, in a related field
or - have demonstrated in scholarship or professional performance potential to undertake research at the doctoral level. (In such cases the applicant must supply a justification for entry to the doctoral program and supporting evidence).
Intending applicants who do not meet the specified admission requirements are encouraged to discuss their qualifications and experience with the Sub-Dean, Graduate Studies before applying.
Applications with a statement describing the applicant's area of interest (approximately 300 words in length) can be lodged at any time within the academic year. Admission to candidature is subject to approval by the Board of Graduate Studies.
Initial contact with the Sub-Dean (Graduate Studies) is highly advisable.
