Graduate Diploma of Health Services Management
What is this course about?
CSU's Graduate Diploma of Health Services Management program is designed for practising health sector managers or aspiring health services managers who want to gain the skills needed to function effectively as managers in the broad health services context.
The Graduate Diploma of Health Services Management is suitable for health managers with backgrounds in medicine, nursing, allied health, paramedical science, commerce, accounting or general business administration. A key feature of the course is its capacity to meet the diverse needs of students from different professional and occupational groups, and backgrounds of employment.
To be eligible for this course, applicants must have a degree in a health-related or business-related area or a Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management.
The Graduate Diploma aims to equip students with the skills, 'know how' and "know why" needed to function effectively as managers in the broad health services context.
Academic expectations
For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.
Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.
Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).
Expectations relating to academic, workplace learning, time and cost requirements for specific subjects are provided in the subject abstracts and in course materials.
