Course structure

Master of Human Resource Management

The Master program comprises 12 subjects, and is designed to provide students with the flexibility to tailor their degree to their needs and career aspirations.

Core subjects

Students must complete ALL FOUR core subjects:

HRM502 Human Resource Management
HRM523 Advanced Studies in Industrial Relations
HRM528 Strategic Human Resource Management
LAW515 Law of Employment

Foundation subjects

Students must complete any FOUR of the following eight subjects:

HRM563 Developing Organisational Capabilities
MGT501 Management Theory and Practice
MGT540 Management of Change

Specialisations

Students are able to specialise in one of the following five areas. If a student decides not to specalise, they are able to choose any four subjects from the Master of Human Resource Management course.

Note: When a Foundation subject is part of a chosen specialisation, students must complete an additional Foundation subject. Subjects cannot be counted towards both fields.

Students may exit early and receive a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management (four core subjects) or a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (eight subjects) as specified below.

Graduate Diploma (exit point only)

The Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management consists of the following:

plus four subjects equivalent to 32 subject points chosen from the Foundation subjects in the Master of Human Resource Management.
