Doctor of Information Management DInfoMgt

The School of Information Studies is expanding the scope of all of its courses in 2010 to reflect the critical importance of information and knowledge management across the broadest range of institutions. This course will be phased out from 2010 but please refer to the Doctor of Philosophy which will continue to be offered by the School.

CSU’s Doctor of Information Management course is designed to provide the opportunity for advanced, critical reflection on professional practice in library and information management.

About the course

This course extends knowledge of the disciplines that underpin library and information management, and develops the attributes required to successfully identify, investigate and resolve problems confronting library and information management. Students carry out research into a current problem confronting library and information management, and present the findings in a thesis or portfolio.

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete coursework, complete the period of study and research, and prepare a thesis or portfolio which is assessed by examiners external to the University.
