Business knowledge and understanding of concepts such as brand image, financial competence, economics and marketing are becoming increasingly important in these sectors. 

CSU's Master of Business Administration (Law Enforcement and Security) provides a high level business qualification to meet this need, while offering a program tailored specifically to those working in the law enforcement and security fields. You will complete four core subjects, four restricted elective subjects, and choose the industry specific subjects that suit your career needs, interests and aspirations.

The course is offered with the flexibility of distance education, making it ideal for busy professionals. Subjects use a range of blended learning techniques including distance education study materials provided online, video-captured lectures, online meetings, subject forums and additional study resources. Online communication tools allow for collaborative work with other students and interaction with academic staff. You could choose to study just one subject per session or, with approval, complete up to four subjects per session to fast-track degree completion.

This course was developed in consultation with senior academics and industry representatives to ensure it meets the needs of the dynamic law enforcement and security sectors. It also draws on the expertise of CSU's Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security (AGSPS), which offers a suite of postgraduate programs designed  for professionals in the policing, emergency management and security fields.

Graduation requirements

To graduate with the Master of Business Administration (Law Enforcement and Security) students must successfully complete 12 subjects (96 points).

Academic expectations

For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.

Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.

Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).
