The nurse as educator is well recognised by the profession as an essential role pertaining to all nurses.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing Education develops this role and relates it to all settings where nurses teach. It is therefore applicable to patient teaching, nursing education, clinical education, continuing and in-service health professional education as well as community health education.
After successful completion of the Postgraduate Certificate, students who would like to continue on to the Master of Nursing degree can apply for full credit in these subjects, which is equivalent to one third of the Master award.
There are no residential schools in this course. The course can be studied entirely from home through distance education.
