Students must complete the following two (16 point) doctoral level subjects:
GPM701 Methods of Inquiry
GPM704 Advanced Research Specialisation
Students must complete two restricted electives (each 16 points). These may be chosen from the subjects listed below or other relevant Level 7 subjects offered by the University, in negotiation with the Course Coordinator and host Faculty.
GPM702 Analysis of Contemporary Issues in Public Sector Management
GPM703 Analysis of Contemporary Issues in Public Policy
The thesis is an original and significant contribution to professional practice that is a result of a 128 point program of research. The topic must be approved by the Australian Graduate School of Policing (AGSP) Research and Higher Degrees Committee and the University’s Board of Graduate Studies.
GPM705 Dissertation or Portfolio (128 points)
The candidate, under the direction of the appointed supervisors, will identify, analyse and propose solutions to local problems confronting professional practice in policing and related professions.
The thesis will be approximately 60,000 words in length.
