Master of Applied Science (Respiratory Science) - Canada MAppSc(RespSc)

The Master of Applied Science (Respiratory Science) qualification will provide the respiratory scientist with the competency to carry out fundamental scientific and clinically related research.

This course is only available to Canadian students. All other students may be interested in the Master of Health Science.

About the course

The primary objective of this course is to provide appropriate training for technical, paramedical and scientific staff of hospital, universities, private clinics and associated workplaces involved in respiratory health services. It is tailored to meet current and prospective professional development needs and to provide competency to carry out fundamental and clinically related research.

The Master degree offers:

Credit

Applicants with additional degree level qualifications may apply for credit for some subjects. When applying for credit, applicants are required to submit full documentation and details of previous study.

Research component

Students must have access to an approved laboratory to undertake a research project. They will also need to arrange for an external supervisor (of at least Master level qualification) on site for consultation on the project.

An academic supervisor from the School of Biomedical Sciences at Charles Sturt University will also be appointed.

The student, or the laboratory sponsoring them, is responsible for any funds that may be required to undertake the project work.
