The course structure is based upon four stand-alone subjects that can be taken independently of each other. The four subjects are subdivided into a number of topics and delivered in a sequence. In this way, knowledge is gained sequentially, building upon previous material.
The subjects undertaken in Session 1 establish a background in river hydrology and ecology, providing a context for the restoration and policy subjects completed in Session 2. These designated core subjects have been selected in line with the essential content requested by Land and Water Australia.
The course consists of four core subjects:
BIO401 River and Floodplain Ecology
BIO402 River Protection and Restoration
GEO513 River Hydrology and Geomorphology
PSC420 Water Policy and Management
The course is offered by distance education only and the standard enrolment pattern would be as follows:
Session 1
BIO401 River and Floodplain Ecology
GEO513 River Hydrology and Geomorphology
Session 2
BIO402 River Protection and Restoration
PSC420 Water Policy and Management
