CSU's Bachelor of Accounting in Port Macquarie combines practical and academic learning concepts, preparing you for a career in the dynamic and rapidly growing profession of accounting.
CSU's Bachelor of Accounting in Port Macquarie is an excellent platform from which graduates can launch their accounting and management career.
CSU in Port Macquarie offers an integrated program in accounting, with a co-enrolment with TAFE NSW North Coast Institute, enabling you to graduate with a number of recognised qualifications. Graduates of this course will receive Certificate IV in Accounting and the Diploma of Accounting in addition to their degree.
Integrated programs allow students to study at TAFE and CSU at the same time, and are typically suited to school leavers, those interested in changing careers, or those who work in the industry but have limited formal study.
Course structure and TAFE integration
After enrolling and completing the Certificate III and Certificate IV in Accounting at TAFE, students enrol in the Diploma of Accounting in Session 1 and the Advanced Diploma of Accounting in Session 2, as well as the Bachelor of Accounting. At this point, students are co-enrolled and study at both TAFE and CSU.
During the first two years of the course, you will study at TAFE towards an Advanced Diploma of Accounting, including specialist elective streams, as well as the first three subjects of the Bachelor of Accounting. In the final year, you will complete the remaining subjects from the Bachelor degree.

To complete this program within three years full-time (six years part-time), students will be required to undertake two subjects in CSU Year 2 Session 3. Students not wishing to study during this session can be accommodated; however it will add an additional CSU session to their study.
If you already have a TAFE qualification, consider the Bachelor of Accounting articulated program.
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 192 points.
For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.
Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.
Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).
Expectations relating to academic, workplace learning, time and cost requirements for specific subjects are provided in the subject abstracts and in course materials.
