This course is a joint program of CSU's Faculty of Science and Faculty of Business, incorporating content from the Bachelor of Business (Agricultural Commerce) and including minors in:
The agribusiness sector is Australia’s largest and most vibrant industry sector, providing a broad range of exciting career opportunities. The Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management provides a critical stepping-stone to a varied career by providing you with a strong foundation in agribusiness.
There is a critical shortage of skilled managers in the agricultural sector. Agribusiness companies such as Elders, CRT, Twynam Pastoral Company and the major banks report a lack of suitable personnel with skills in business, management and finance who also have technical agricultural training. There is also demand for better trained managers of agricultural production enterprises.
Careers in agribusiness are not necessarily involved in production agriculture. This course is designed to provide career opportunities at any point in the supply chain, from within the farm gate through to export and marketing of agri-products, as well as within the industries that service agriculture.
Employment opportunities range from the rural service industries of regional Australia to international trade and finance activities undertaken by multinational corporations. You will have many career options as you acquire expertise in marketing, accounting, finance, people management, international business, agricultural enterprise management, and sustainable resource management.
The high demand for graduates of this course means many students have offers of permanent employment prior to graduation.
Careers available include:
