CSU's Bachelor of Business Studies in Canberra provides a flexible, generalist undergraduate degree, with a wide range of opportunities and choices available to graduates.
CSU has developed an articulated program with Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) for students who wish to complete CSU's Bachelor of Business Studies.
The subjects will be jointly delivered by CSU and CIT conveniently at CIT's Reid campus. You will have the opportunity to follow the pathway from an advanced diploma in a range of CIT programs and complete a nationally and internationally recognised degree in one year’s full-time study. CSU's Bachelor of Business Studies in Canberra provides a flexible, generalist undergraduate degree, with a wide range of opportunities and choices available to graduates.
Articulated programs enable students to study and complete qualifications at CIT first and then go on to complete their CSU study. They are suited to current and graduate CIT students, school leavers, those interested in changing careers, or those who work in the industry but have limited formal study.
Course structure
Students study the Business Studies program on campus at CIT and complete qualifications from both CSU and CIT.
In the first two years of study, students complete one of the advanced diplomas listed below. They then complete the Bachelor of Business Studies in their third and final year of study.
If CIT students have already completed one of the advanced diplomas listed below, they can simply enrol and complete the CSU component of the program, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Studies.

The eight subjects offered on the Reid campus of CIT range across important management areas such as global marketing, financial decision making, corporate governance, regional economics, leadership and project management. These in-depth studies will broaden your knowledge and sharpen your abilities in critical analysis, rational argument and all the essential communication skills required of a successful manager. You can study four units full-time or two units part-time per semester. Student intakes are offered in February and July.
Your experience in completing the course prepares you to manage technical and organisational change and gain the skills to help you become an effective leader able to understand the needs of your employees, apply technology, and develop an extensive knowledge of the political, economic and social environment. These crucial strategic skills are now becoming even more essential in the highly competitive and often uncertain world of international and local business enterprises.
TAFE-specific scholarships are available for students in this course.

Graduation requirements
Students receive 128 points credit for successful completion of one of the selected advanced diplomas. They must then complete a further 64 points through CSU to graduate with the Bachelor of Business Studies.
Academic expectations
For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.
Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.
Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).
Expectations relating to academic, workplace learning, time and cost requirements for specific subjects are provided in the subject outlines and in course materials.

Admission requirements
Students need to complete one of the listed advanced diplomas from CIT. Applications for this course is made direct to CSU.
To be admitted into the course, prospective students need to indicate their likelihood of success through: Previous studies include: NSW and interstate school leavers are normally selected on the basis of their Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) or interstate equivalent. You may also be admitted on the basis of a strong performance in subjects relevant to your course preferences. Applicants will be deemed to have sufficient English proficiency if they: All other applicants must explicitly demonstrate proficiency. Any of the following results, attained within the last two years, can be used to demonstrate English proficiency: An applicant who does not otherwise meet the University's requirements may be admitted on the recommendation of the Dean of the appropriate faculty. You may also be admitted to a course based on other attainments and experience. These may include: CSU places great emphasis on services to its students. It is a leader in the provision of online services and, in particular, the use of the internet in the support of teaching, administration and communications with students. The online environment is so integrated into all aspects of student life and the learning experience at CSU that the University now assumes that all on campus and distance education students at CSU will have ongoing access to an internet connected computer capable of communicating with CSU online systems. Students enrolled in Information Technology subjects (i.e. with an ITC subject code) may be required to have additional hardware and/or software that is deemed essential for the completion of the learning activities in that subject.
Previous studies
Currently no secondary school subjects are prerequisites for admission to particular CSU courses however some courses assume a certain level of knowledge. This will be specified in the course information if applicable.English language proficiency
