This degree provides students with a wide range of choice to study subjects in areas like accounting, decision-making, Asia-Pacific business, business statistics, buyer behaviour, human resource management, international business management, international economics, international marketing, macroeconomics, marketing and society, marketing of services, managing change, organisational behaviour, organisations and management and small business management.

The Bachelor of Business Studies draws upon the extensive portfolio of subjects already developed by the Faculty of Business. As a CSU graduate in Business, you will be among the most employable business graduates in the world.

This course is delivered at Holmesglen's Chadstone campus, and students successfully completing the degree will receive a qualification from CSU. Course structure

CSU's Bachelor of Business Studies is an articulated program where students complete a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from Holmesglen, followed by a further 1.5 years of study to complete the CSU degree. All study is undertaken at Holmesglen's campuses in Melbourne.

Entry into the Bachelor of Business Studies, with credit, is through successful completion of one of the following courses at Holmesglen:

  • Diploma of Accounting
  • Diploma of Banking Services Management
  • Diploma of International Business
  • Advanced Diploma of Accounting
  • Advanced Diploma of Hospitality
  • Advanced Diploma of Management
  • Advanced Diploma of Management (Human Resources)
  • Advanced Diploma of Marketing

Graduation requirements

Students must successfully complete 24 subjects (192 points) to graduate with the Bachelor of Business Studies. Students who have successfully completed a relevant Diploma at Holmesglen may be eligible for up to one year credit (equivalent to eight subjects), and students who have successfully completed a relevant Advanced Diploma at Holmesglen may be eligible for up to 1.5 years credit (equivalent to 12 subjects).

Academic expectations

For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.

Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.

Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).

Expectations relating to academic, workplace learning, time and cost requirements for specific subjects are provided in the subject abstracts and in course materials.
