This course prepares graduates to be critical consumers of research, with a knowledge of key research paradigms and the ability to design, conduct and evaluate an innovative research project.
The Honours course in Communication is available to applicants with a high level of achievement who have been awarded, or who are eligible to graduate with an undergraduate Communications degree from Charles Sturt University or another university.
In certain circumstances, the course is available to applicants who have a comparable degree from Charles Sturt University or another institution. Applicants will be expected to have attained grades of credit or better in the second and third level subjects of their Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification.
Acceptance into the Honours program is subject to the approval of the Course Coordinator and is at the discretion of the Head of the School of Communication.
For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.
Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.
Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).
Expectations relating to academic, workplace learning, time and cost requirements for specific subjects are provided in the subject abstracts and in course materials.

The world is experiencing an unprecedented velocity of change. You text, rather than talk. You shop online, rather than in a store. You play games on screen rather than in a park, and Facebook and Twitter are how you talk to your friends.
I have been accepted into the Bachelor of Communication (Theatre/Media) at CSU Bathurst to commence in 2012. I am a film and theatre enthusiast who is keen to create my own works and collaborate on works with others in both forms of media. I believe my entry reflects not only my passion, creativity and skill in creative arts/media, but also reflects my excitement for the course I am to complete.
