How to apply

Undergraduate on campus full-time study

For students with Australian citizenship, residency or New Zealand citizenship

Admission to the Bachelor of Dental Science involves three steps. You must:

  1. apply through UAC
  2. complete and submit the CSU supplementary application form
  3. attend an interview (December), if and when invited to do so.

As with all full-time on campus undergraduate courses, applications for admission to the Bachelor of Dental Science are made through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). UAC Guides, containing instructions on how to apply using the UAC web or telephone services, are made available to Year 12 students at high schools in NSW and the ACT during August.

Application process

Each year, a new CSU supplementary application form will be available from 1 August. Application forms are mandatory and must be submitted to the University directly. They must be signed and received by the University no later than the last business day preceding or including 30 September. The address for submission is provided on the form. After 30 September and before 1 August of the following year, the previous year's supplementary application form will be available for your information only. Do not submit a form that has been downloaded prior to 1 August of the year in which you are studying.

For further information about how to apply to the Bachelor of Dental Science, please contact info.csu by email or phone 1800 334 733.

Closing dates

The closing date for applications is by the last business day preceding or including 30 September. Late applications will not be considered.
NB: You cannot add this course to your UAC preferences after 30 September.

After you have applied

Your supplementary application form will be assessed and you will be informed if you have been selected for interview or not. Not all students who submit a supplementary application form will necessarily be selected for interview.

In most cases, interviews will occur during December at the CSU Orange Campus. Once we have the results from your interview and your most recent school or university studies, we will offer places to successful applicants through the normal UAC procedures.

Credit

The University does not usually expect students to repeat study completed at an acceptable standard at a university or college, or to study subjects in which they are already competent because of work or other experience. Following application through UAC and after accepting the offer of study, a request for credit should be directed to Student Administration. Certified supporting evidence such as transcripts and subject descriptions will need to be included with the application for credit. The University will advise of the application outcome in writing.

Regional Bonus Scheme

Students automatically have their ATAR increased by 5.0 points if they are completing Year 12 at a regional high school. Similarly, non Year 12 applicants residing in the University’s regions will have their entrance rank increased by 5.0 points.

PREP

The PREP scheme is not applicable to this course.
