TAFE articulated program

What is this course about?

CSU's articulated program in the Bachelor of Hotel Management allows graduates from a selection of Diplomas from Northern Sydney Institute, part of TAFE NSW, to upgrade their qualifications with credit for the study they have already completed.

NSI logoCSU has developed an Articulation Program with Northern Sydney Institute for students who wish to complete the Bachelor of Hotel Management.

Students with approved TAFE qualifications, including the Diploma of Hospitality, Events Management, or Tourism, receive guaranteed entry to the Bachelor of Hotel Management and can complete the course in just two years of full-time study through CSU.

Students will develop skills in areas such as human resources, industrial relations, management, marketing and tourism, equipping them for a career in the global industry of  hospitality management.

The course is offered on campus at Northern Sydney Institute's Ryde College, and Commonwealth supported places are available for CSU's subjects, so you can defer your fees until you finish the course and start earning an income above the specified threshold.

TAFE-specific scholarships are also available for this course.

Course structure

This course comprises a combination of CSU and TAFE subjects where the TAFE NSW - Northern Sydney Institute curriculum is based on the Diploma of Hospitality, Advanced Diploma of Events or Advanced Diploma of Tourism (64 credit points)

The CSU component of the course, which must be undertaken after completion of the Northern Sydney Institute Diplomas, consists of 16 core subjects.

Academic expectations

For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.

Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.

Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).
