CSU's Bachelor of Information Technology is designed to equip graduates with the skills and attributes required to be effective and efficient information technology professionals.
Information is the new global currency. It allows citizens to make informed decisions, provides business with its competitive advantage, and creates the opportunity to develop new knowledge and insights. The amount of new information (including text, video and audio) that is generated daily is in the order of three exabytes, or one billion billion bytes. The demand for highly-skilled knowledge workers to process, manipulate and analyse this ever-growing mountain of information has never been greater. The Bachelor of Information Technology will provide you with the essential skills to take your place as a knowledge worker in the information technology industry.
The Bachelor of Information Technology core component covers principles fundamental to the information systems and computing discipline such as databases, data communications, systems analysis and design, information security and project work, plus emerging directions that prepare students to undertake an IT major or specialisation from a specified list.
International students may study the Bachelor of Information Technology through CSU regional campuses or the CSU Study Centre Sydney or Melbourne. An intake in Session 3 is available for Study Centres only.
Not all majors are available for full-time on campus study at all campuses. Please check with the School once you have received an offer.
As with all our courses, the Bachelor of Information Technology is designed and delivered with study flexibility in mind. Our students choose between full-time and part-time study options to fit in with work and lifestyle commitments. You could choose to study one subject in an academic session or, with approval, fast-track degree completion by undertaking four subjects per session.

The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.
Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.
Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).
Expectations relating to academic, workplace learning, time and cost requirements for specific subjects are provided in the subject abstracts and in course materials.
