Admission requirements
Applicants should have a basic knowledge and understanding of using personal computers. Successful applicants must have access to the internet during the period they are enrolled in the course in order to complete course requirements.
As admission quotas apply, applicants are ranked based on an assessment of their work or industry experience, evidence of academic ability (studies undertaken at tertiary level), and, where applicable, demonstrated skills or proficiency as required for the course.
Minimum criteria are:
- completion of the NSW Higher School Certificate with a Universities Admissions Index (UAI) minimum as approved by Academic Senate;
- or, completion of the interstate equivalent of the NSW HSC at an equivalent standard;
- or, completion of the TAFE Tertiary Preparation Course at an equivalent standard,
- or completion of the HSC (or interstate equivalent) with studies in English, Mathematics and / or Information Technology at HSC level
- (or the interstate equivalent),
- or Completion of two appropriate undergraduate subjects through enrolment with CSU, other universities or with Open Learning Australia,
- or completion of Cert II, III, or IV in an appropriate discipline area from TAFE or other accredited provider,
- or demonstrated attributes through paid or voluntary employment in a library or information agency,
- or participation in continuing education programs and/or staff development programs conducted by ALIA or other appropriate professional or industry-related bodies,
- or in the case of school leavers seeking admission to this course,
- a report on the applicant’s academic performance from the school principal
