Course Structure

The course consists of 256 points. At the end of 2nd year students can choose, dependent upon satisfying minimum requirements, to complete the honours stream or remain in the pass degree.

Professional recognition

The course has been developed to meet the requirements of the Australasian Podiatry Council and Registration Boards in all states and territories of Australia. Accreditation/recognition of the podiatry course is a legal/statutory requirements in all states and territories of Australia and graduates cannot practice podiatry unless the course has been evaluated by the Podiatry registration boards of Australia.

The podiatry course can also be accredited by the Australian Podiatry Council (APodC) however this is not a legal requirement for registration in Australia. APodC has indicated that they will cease course accreditation as from 2009.

The Podiatry course at CSU is currently recognised by all states and territories of Australia and the UK (Via APodC mutual recognition).It is also recognised in NZ via Transtasman mutual recognition legislation.

Formal reaccreditation of the program will be obtained from the NSW Podiatrists registration board following approval of this course review. It is also expected that the course will be formally reviewed by the new national accrediting body (ANZPAC) in the period 2010-2012.
