Bachelor of Theology BTh

CSU’s Bachelor of Theology is offered in conjunction with St Mark’s National Theological Centre in Canberra and United Theological College in North Parramatta, to equip students to undertake lay religious ministry functions or to pursue ordination.

The Bachelor of Theology aims to deepen students’ faith understanding in whatever context they live or work.

Key points

Students may choose to study only theology subjects or they may prefer to integrate their study of theology with another area of interest to further enrich their program. The joining of St Mark’s and UTC with CSU means students have access to outstanding resources. Both St Mark’s and UTC have significant theological libraries. Students looking to ordination or professional ministry will find offerings which are vocationally oriented, ecumenically sensitive and integrated with practical experience

Vocational opportunities

Vocational opportunities include chaplaincy in a variety of institutional settings, such as military, prisons, police, ambulance, hospital, trade and industry, or work in the social welfare arms of charities and the church, e.g. overseas development aid, communication functions, marriage and family counselling.

Graduation requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 192 points, normally comprising 24 subjects.
