For students with Australian citizenship, residency or New Zealand citizenship
Admission to the Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Bachelor of Veterinary Science involves three steps. You must:
As with all full-time on-campus undergraduate courses, applications for admission to the Bachelor of Veterinary Biology /Bachelor of Veterinary Science are made through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
UAC Guides, containing instructions on how to apply using the UAC web or telephone services, are made available to Year 12 students at high schools in NSW and the ACT during August. The VTAC Guide is also distributed to Victorian Year 12 applicants in July, while other applicants can obtain the Guide from most Victorian newsagents.
The closing date for applications is by the last business day preceding or including 30 September. Late application will not be considered. NB: You cannot add this course to your UAC preferences after September 30.
Each year, the new Bachelor of Veterinary Science Questionnaire is available here from 1 August. Questionnaires must be submitted to the University directly and must be received no later than the last business day preceding or including 30 September. The address for submission of the Questionnaire is provided on the Questionnaire.
After the 30 September and before the 1 August of the following year, the previous year’s Questionnaire is available for your information only. Do not submit a Questionnaire that has been downloaded prior to the 1 August of the year in which you are applying.
Your questionnaire will be assessed and you will be informed if you have been selected for interview or not.
Not all students who submit a Questionnaire will necessarily be selected for interview. Your responses to the questions on the Questionnaire will be used to decide if you are to be selected for an interview.
In most cases, interviews will occur during November and December before the results of your current school or university study are known. In some cases, interviews will be delayed until January, after your school or university results are known.
Interviews are held at the CSU Wagga Wagga Campus.
Once we have the results from your interview and your most recent school or university studies, we will offer places to successful applicants through the normal UAC procedures.
The University does not usually expect students to repeat study completed at an acceptable standard at a university or college, or to study subjects in which they are already competent because of work or other experience. If applying through UAC or VTAC and after accepting the offer of study, a request for credit should be directed to Student Administration. Certified supporting evidence such as transcripts and subject descriptions will need to be included with the application for credit. The University will advise of the application outcome in writing.
Students attending high schools in the region served by the university who are completing Year 12 have their tertiary entrance rank automatically increased by 5.0 points to offset the disadvantage of rural isolation. Similarly, non Year 12 applicants residing in the University’s regions will have their entrance rank increased by 5.0 points.
