CSTL Research Retreat April 9 and 10, 2005
Guidelines for Poster Sessions
When
Posters will be on display during dinner on Saturday 9 April. Following dinner, poster presenters will remain with their posters to discuss their presentation and answer questions from participants.
Content
Your poster presentation should be based on the accepted proposal, but modifications based on new findings or further developments since submission are acceptable.
Posters should be a brief summary of your research or research idea. Readers should be able to grasp the essence quickly.
Poster must include a title and the name and contact details of the presenter.
Handouts are an acceptable way of further publicising your research.
Format
Poster space will be two sizes: 85 cm x 90 cm or 60 cm x 74 cm. You will be provided with the size of your poster space when your proposal is accepted. Your space can be filled with one big poster or multiple smaller elements. Be sure it can be mounted quickly.
Posters will be attached using velcro dots (provided).
A logical sequence will help readability.
When choosing colours, lettering styles, etc., keep readability and visual impact in mind. Graphic elements are encouraged where appropriate.
Posters should be readable from a distance of 1 metre. Enlarge your font appropriately.
Your poster will be in print format only. There will be no space for electronic embellishments such as PowerPoint.
