CSU Live Testimonial

Anne StevensAnne Stevens
Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) graduate

"I was attracted to this course as I work in the human resources (HR) field and even though I have been successful in my career, I felt that by achieving an undergraduate degree in the field I would be able to further my career, accelerate my learning in other specialisations within HR and open the door to more career opportunities.

"I chose CSU as my preferred university for a few reasons. As I worked full-time I needed to study part-time and online. I also wanted to study through a well-respected bricks and mortar institution, as I felt that would offer me academic credibility and the support I would need as a mature student. By researching different universities I discovered that CSU stood out above the rest. With such a long and proven history in successfully delivering online based learning, CSU offered everything I was looking for.

"There were a few highlights of my University experience, although winning the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) award for outstanding academic achievement rates pretty high, along with graduating with a Distinction.

"I am currently working in my chosen field of study, Human Resources. I work full-time in Sydney for a global organisation who specialise in Human Capital Management. My role involves providing consulting services in the area of Talent Acquisition for a number of Australian based organisations.

"For any student just starting university, my advice would be to read the Subject Outline back to front - every time. Always, always ask if you have a question and get involved. If you don't participate in everything the university has to offer, you're limiting your possibilities.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time at CSU.  As an apprehensive mature student four years ago, I never would have imagined where it would take me. There were times I felt overwhelmed, confused and frustrated but every time that happened there was always someone there to help get me back on track. From the generous time given by the tutors, to the words of support and encouragement of the other students and the academic support from the learning support team.  They never gave up on me in the tough times and the learning community offered by CSU was critical in my success.  The quality and depth of learning offered in my degree has given me a greater knowledge and understanding of my profession and the confidence to embrace opportunities I would never had before."
