"I considered a number of factors when choosing to study at CSU, including job success of graduates, location, overseas study opportunities and class sizes. I moved from Lake Macquarie to Bathurst to study and not knowing anyone when I moved to Bathurst was scary, but I joined social sports teams and actively participated in tutorials and quickly made friends.
"CSU was really great at incorporating practical experience into this course. I had three work placements, starting from 35 hours, to 120 hours each. I was able to work for a government, a not-for-profit and a private sector organisation across my three placements. I had some fantastic experiences and also received some glowing references for the future as well.
"I had a few memorable CSU experiences, but the one I am most proud of is in my final year being able to develop and put together an entire training program for managers from scratch on my own as part of a major assignment in a human resource management distance subject. I could not believe I could do that and to receive a high distinction was an amazing feeling.
"As part of my degree I went on two overseas study exchanges - six months to Switzerland and two weeks to England as part of a small group. Studying overseas I not only had classes but I lived with other students from other countries and made some incredible friends. CSU Global offers amazing overseas study options that count towards your degree and it is affordable for just about everyone. While on exchange you become an ambassador for CSU. During this experience I realised how very proud I am to say I studied at CSU and being able to share this with others is quite rewarding.
"Studying at CSU has also taught me a lot about personal reflection and continuous learning. CSU has really helped me to move forward in any situation - work, career or personal. It also really helped me with personal awareness and confidence and interacting with a variety of different people.
"To anyone considering studying at CSU - do it! Go there! The class sizes are perfect in the Business faculty. The lecturers are amazing and so supportive - you are not just another student number. There are lots of affordable overseas study opportunities, especially in Business. Bathurst is a great 'uni' town - you can do a lot on a budget. Oh - and try to get on campus for at least one session!"
