"I decided to study the Graduate Certificate in Commerce as a pathway to completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Further study was something that I had always wanted to do as I had gained a wealth of work experience but no supporting qualifications. The time was right for me to be able to commit to commencing a somewhat unknown but nonetheless exciting educational journey.
"I chose distance education because of family and work commitments and CSU had a good reputation for its distance education courses. CSU's courses were relevant and it was important to me that I could use my learning and be able to apply it to my workplaces. Studying by distance education was very flexible and with commitment and some robust time management, I have been able to fit it in quite easily with my family, a full-time job and two volunteer Director positions. The skills I have learnt so far have assisted me in both my full-time job and being a Director of a progressive not-for-profit organisation.
"CSU is unique in that I felt that I could be studying from anywhere, as no one was ever too far away in an online environment, but I still got a sense of community feeling that a regional university has through my contact and communications to and from the University. My most memorable CSU experience was receiving a High Distinction for a subject that I thought I would really struggle with, and finding that I really enjoyed it too!
"To someone considering studying at CSU, I would say do it sooner rather than later. The support is fabulous and the sense of expanding your knowledge is fulfilling."
