“When selecting my course, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, and I was passionate about communications. I was also aware of Charles Sturt University (CSU) Bathurst’s reputation for leading the nation in communications degrees. It was a no-brainer!

"As part of the course, I was required to do around 160 hours of work placement. My most memorable internship was with Channel 9 in Sydney – I gained so much practical experience and a great list of contacts. Two years on, I am now a TV reporter for Channel 9 in Wagga Wagga. Prior to this, I was a presenter for Southern Cross Austereo in Canberra and before that a journalist/reporter for 2CC radio station in Canberra.

"Being a regional university, CSU is unique as it is so much more personal. You know the name of every person in your class, it’s so intimate and supportive. And socially, there is no other university that compares. The friends I made at CSU are lifelong mates. On-campus living creates the perfect environment for establishing professional and social relationships.

"I am so proud to be from CSU. The practical experience offered is like no other. The learning is unique and valuable. I have since discovered employees are always on the look-out for CSU graduates.

"To anyone considering studying at CSU - DO IT! You won’t ever look back. Choosing to study at CSU was the greatest decision of my life. I would not be where I am today if I had chosen another university. Not only was I able to grow academically, but the personal development encouraged is priceless. I am SO proud to have been part of CSU."
