"I can't recommend studying as either an on campus or distance student at CSU highly enough. When choosing to study at CSU, I considered a number of factors, including flexibility, effective use of technology to facilitate learning, quality course materials, experienced, knowledgeable and friendly lecturers. The staff were very friendly and more personable and I feel more like an individual, rather than just a 'number'.
"CSU offers flexible and innovative study options, utilises technology and learning management systems very effectively, maintains a high level of academic rigour and most importantly, I could learn and develop my knowledge and skills in an efficient and effective manner. I wanted my educational experience to be rigorous, flexible and most importantly I wanted to learn the 'correct' way to do things. My mathematics lecturers stressed it is just as important to solve problems with the correct structure and technique, rather than just arriving at the correct solution. This has helped me immeasurably as a teacher of senior school mathematics as my students are also learning structured and effective problem-solving techniques.
"The course both met and exceeded my expectations in terms of preparing me to better perform in my job. I wanted to add mathematics as a teaching method to broaden my teaching ability and to make myself more employable.
"The advantage of studying by distance education meant I was able to hold down employment whilst studying and I had the flexibility and convenience about when and where my learning took place. I lived in both Melbourne and Ballarat while I was studying and was able to study in the evening after work, on weekends and days off. It was easy to connect with other students via the online forums and the residential schools allowed me to readily interact and share learning experiences with other students.
"I attended two residential schools and they were very helpful in enhancing the learning experience. It was great to meet lecturers face-to-face and share learning experiences and practical tasks with fellow students. My most memorable CSU experience was attending the residential schools and intense satisfaction after completing each course.
"i have completed three courses already and I am considering enrolling in another in the near future. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Give CSU a try and you will not only feel a great sense of personal development and growth yourself, but your career will benefit measurably as well."
