CSU Live Testimonial

Sarah Treweek
Bachelor of Information Studies (Librarianship)

Sarah Treweek"I wanted to study online because I was a stay-at-home mum looking to engage my brain and hopefully finish studying by the time my kids went to school. I could not afford childcare and had no relatives to provide childcare, so having the option to study online was a big consideration. I chose CSU as it has a great range of courses and subjects and the School of Information Studies is the largest education provider in the Library and Information Services industry.

"I manage to fit study into my life when the kids are out of the house, and I study at night after they are in bed. The introduction of the mobile app has made it easier for me to study on-the-go, checking forum discussions on the train or waiting for school pickups.

"I’ve connected with other students via Facebook, Google and Skype study groups. The staff are very supportive and the lecturers are very engaged in the online environment. Many embrace technologies to help personalise and connect with students with online meetings, chat sessions and organising meet-ups. I love the organised 'Let’s Talk' meet-ups around study visit time in Melbourne. They provide connection and foster relationships between students, lecturers and other Library and Information Services students and education providers. I feel they are a reflection of the general knowledge sharing tendency and professional networks of the overall library and information services industry.

"Prior to beginning this course I had no experience at all in the library and information services industry. I was concerned about this but as I am nearing completion of my course I am feeling much more confident that it has provided me with an excellent grounding in the theory side of things.

"When I eventually decide to come back to study for my Masters I will definitely be re-enrolling with CSU – I’m a country girl originally and my heart leans to the country always. To anyone considering studying at CSU – go for it!"
