Wagga to Wales Stage Design conference 

Proposed 2013 program

The Wagga to Wales campaign is a vital opportunity for budding designers from Charles Sturt University to travel to the prestigious international World Stage Design 2013 conference in Cardiff, Wales. 

This 10-day event (September, 2013) is a celebration of international performance design from the world of theatre, opera and dance. It will provide these graduating students with global networking opportunities as well as being a dynamic and intense learning experience involving workshops, exhibitions and performances.  

When: 30 August - 17 September, 2013 (exact dates To Be Advised)

Eligibility: Second and third year Bachelor of Arts (Design for Theatre and Television) students enrolled in VPA319  or DES212 in Session 2, 2013 (201360).  Other interested students are invited to submit an application which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
 
Academic Credit: 
Students must liaise directly with their Course Director for credit approval.

Available program places: 11-17 places
NB: This program will require 11 students to proceed.

Cost: Approx 4600*
*The $500 Vice Chancellor Travel Grant (for eligible students) is not awarded directly to students but has already been included in program costings.

Costs should include: international flights, airport transfers, theatre and museum entry costs, conference sessions, accommodation, travel insurance and most meals.  

Costs do not include CSU subject fee, domestic travel costs or accommodation or additional meals

Please note: All CSU Global programs are group ticketed.  Your program will depart from Sydney and return to Sydney on the dates listed.

Application time-line:

  • Application closing date: 5 July, 2013
  • Successful students notified (via email): 8 July, 2013
  • $1000 non-refundable deposit due:10 July, 2013
    (You MUST have obtained your passport prior to this date - with a minimum of 6mth validity from the return date)
  • Final and full payment due: 17 July, 2013
  • Pre departure session: TBA
