International Experience Program - Canada
School of Policing Studies / Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security (AGSPS)
Topic Area: Emerging issues in law enforcement – Canadian and International perspectives
This intensive program will involve a one week residential program will focus on topics such as: Indigenous issues, leadership, globalisation, government relations with law enforcement, community policing, accountability and police diversification.
This program is still in planning stages and as such some minor details of the tour could change.
Program Dates: 17 - 21 June, 2013
Number of places: 30
NB: this program will require 20 students to proceed.
Program Cost: Approx. AUD$1600.00 - This does not include subject fee.
Costs should include: Program fee, accommodation, breakfast and some meals.
This is an individually ticketed program (students to arrange and purchase their own flights, visas and travel insurance). Students who receive academic recognition (to be organised with your course director) can apply for the Vice Chancellor’s Travel Grant* ($500).
*Please note: The Vice Chancellor Travel Grant is not paid directly to the student but deducted from the advertised program fee.
Eligibility: Bachelor of Policing, Bachelor of Policing (Investigations) students and postgraduate students from the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security (AGSPS)
Credit: One 8 point subject which will be assessed according to your level of study (you must still have sufficient subjects to study to be eligible for the credit).
Application Timeline:
- Application Deadline: 8 February, 2013
- Successful students notified (email): 15 February, 2013
- Non-refundable AUD$100 deposit due: 22nd February, 2013
- Program fee balance due: 29 March, 2013
(You MUST have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months after the program's return date. Please note it may take 4-6 weeks to obtain a passport)
