International Experience Program: Europe

In conjunction with the Department of Oenology at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland this three-week program will incorporate winery and vineyard visits with intercultural activities and experiences.
Starting in Switzerland, students will cross the continent travelling to Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Germany before returning to Switzerland.

NB: This program will require 8 students to proceed
Cost: Approx $3100*
*The $500 Travel Grant (for eligible students) is not awarded directly to individuals, but incorporated into the program fee.
Costs should include: most meals, all accommodation (shared basis), local travel on the excursion and various social activities.
Costs do not include CSU subject fees, international flights, insurance, visas and additional meals
Students are required to purchase their own flights and insurance for this program.
Financial support in the form of an OS-HELP loan may be available to eligible students to assist with the cost of participating in the program. Eligibility: Students enrolled in any CSU Wine Science, Viticulture, Oenology or Agricultural Science degree (DE and Internal).
Credit Arrangements: SCI301 - Please liaise with your Course Director regarding credit approval.

Indicative program outline:
CSU, in partnership with the Department of Oenology at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (Changings) has designed this multi-country program. Ten CSU students will be joined by 10 students from Switzerland as well as 10 students from various tertiary education institutes in California that teach oenology and viticulture. As well as visiting wineries / vineyards there will be some social activities where students will be able to interact with students from both Europe and the USA. One or more academic members of staff from each of the institutions will accompany the students on the excursion.
The excursion will commence from Switzerland on Monday 24th June. The first few days will be spent in Switzerland. Participants will visit Northern Italy (Piedmont, South Tyrol, Trentino) Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary (Budapest), Austria (Vienna) Germany (Stuttgart) before returning to Switzerland. The excursion concludes on Friday 12th July 2013.
