Biodiversity Blitz 2010 Wagga Campus
This Year's "Biodiversity Blitz" on Wagga Campus was held on Saturday 31 July. It was a great success with approximately 900 locally indigenous plants planted and several nesting boxes for the locally vulnerable Squirrel Glider were assembled. The volunteer's fantastic efforts have greatly assisted towards CSU's target of utilising 20% of University land to improve biodiversity by 2015 and towards National Tree Day and the International Year of Biodiversity.
Special thanks should go to the Division of Information Technology who funded the event as part of their commitment to the environment, the Division of Facilities Management's grounds and maintenance teams for their extensive preparation work and Division of Student Services for feeding all those who attended. Also a Special thanks to Cheryl Honey, Edward Maher and Allen Buckman for the wonderful pictures they took on the day.
CSU will hold similar events to this Biodiversity Blitz in future years and hopefully these can be as successful and constructive as this year's event.
