Making contact with the University

Making contact when studying by distance educationFor students studying by distance education, feeling connected to your lecturers and fellow students is vital. CSU provides many ways to keep the lines of communication open.

At CSU, we foster communities of learning. Essentially, this allows students studying from locations across the world to come together as one group with a subject or course in common.

Contact with your lecturer

The University and your lecturers welcome your contact at any time during your study with CSU.

We encourage direct contact with lecturers via telephone, email, fax or the internet. Office telephone numbers and addresses are supplied to all students, both on the web and in the subject outline.

Online Forums

Online forums for each subject are widely used to enable students to exchange ideas with lecturers and other students, discuss subject content and interact with the Subject Coordinator.

More about online learning

Telephone and Video conferences

Telephone tutorials enable up to 10 students to participate simultaneously in discussions with their lecturer from their own homes via a telephone network.

Video-conference lectures/tutorials allow you to communicate face-to-face with your lecturer at a distance.

Study Groups

We encourage you to form student study groups to work together on selected exercises, case studies and group presentations. This is also a way to gain support and help with problem solving.

Student Central

Student Central is a Student Services Help Desk - a one stop point of contact for allenrolled CSU students.

Student Central can assist you with general enquiries, provide information about residential schools, textbooks and student equity, track the dispatch of your study materials and help you access learning and counselling services.

Residential Schools

Residential schools provide you with the opportunity to interact with fellow students, share your learning experiences and talk to academic staff.
